بیلی بلنکت
پتوی مخصوص فتوتراپی که در منزل به راحتی قابل استفاده است. لطفا یکی از دانشجویان کلاس نوزادان این بخش را ترجمه کنند.

The BiliBlanket
Features include a soft fiber optic pad, high-intensity lighting, an optional Transilluminator, automatic shut- off, hour meter, adjustable light output and easily replaceable lamp.
The BiliBlanket® Plus High Output Phototherapy System delivers up to 56 microwatts of penetrating light directly to the baby's skin for effective jaundice management.
Unlike other forms of phototherapy, the baby may be cuddled, cared for, and even nursed while receiving treatment. Parent and infant bonding can take place without interruption, unlike with conventional phototherapy lights.
With the use of the optional transilluminator attachment, the system easily converts to one of the most powerful transilluminators available today
BILI-BLANKET DO’S AND DON’TS

One method of phototherapy in the hospital or at home is a fiber-optic blanket (bili-blanket). It consists of a fiber-optic pad (A), a cable connector (B), and a light generating box (C). Use of the bili-blanket is simple and safe as long as the directions for use are followed.
DO make sure the light source box is on a flat, non-absorbent surface. Do not place on carpet or sit on the crib mattress.
DO make sure as much of the infant’s skin is in direct contact with the light pad. Diapers should be worn.
DO have the disposable cover as the ONLY material between the light-emitting side of the pad and infant’s skin. Clothing may be worn over the pad.
DO leave the light pad on when holding or feeding your baby.
DO turn off light when bathing your infant.
DO change the disposable cover if it becomes soiled.
DO use a 3-prong plug for safety.
DO set the intensity knob on the light box to the highest setting.
DON’T use the light-emitting pad without a disposable cover.
DON’T directly expose your baby’s eyes to the covered light pad.
DON’T sit anything on top of the light source box or the fiber optic cable.
Approved by UMHS Perinatal and Mott nurses, July 2005
